注：海伦？凯勒（1880―1968），1880年6月27日出生于阿拉巴马州的塔斯卡比亚，1900年她进入了拉德克利夫学院学习，并于1904年毕业。她是第一个从大学毕业的聋盲人。除了著有《我一生的故事》这本书外，她还写了其他的11本书，还有大量的关于盲人、聋人、社会问题和妇女权利方面的文章。
尽管兴趣广泛，海伦？凯勒从来没有忘记那些盲人和聋盲人的需要。1936年，她搬到了西部的港口城市康乃狄格州，在那儿她一直生活至1968年6月1日去世，享年87岁。
