“Romero” large open-air theater has a huge arena, three performance areas, totally six points. Wine Festival’s final party was held here every year. The Queens Appear in chronological meet the audience, which is opening repertoire.

Finally, when the championship was elected, all the flowers and applause, accompanied by the good wishes of the people, flock together to the grape queen.

The Historical Journey

In 1551, Spanish Peru colonists Francisco as a special envoy of the Governor of Chile, starting from top, became the first West to reach this piece of arid steppe. At that time, Mendoza and the entire region was known as the “Cuyo”. The explorers were friendly to the local Indians. He spent almost an entire winter there and returned to Chile. Later, the newly appointed Governor of Chile Mendoza appointed Pedro Castilla to occupy and develop the entire Cuyo area.

On February 20, 1561, Pedro Castilla led the colonel climb over the Andes from Chile to Wei Tata valley and built the city. But this is not the city of Mendoza today.

In 1562, led by Juan Fuller, Mendoza City moved to the site now.

In 1776, the Spaniards occupied the entire Cuyo area and expanded constantly, Spanish colonists established a new center of La Plata District Governor in the center of Buenos Aires. It became Argentina’s Mendoza city today.

During the independence movement in South America, Mendoza played an important role. In 1817, the hero Jose Martin in South American independence crossed the Andes and liberated Chile, taking Mendoza as a base.

In 1861, an unprecedented disaster came to the city of Mendoza. A strong earthquake destroyed most of the buildings here, and directly caused the deaths of about 5,000 people.

In 1863, the city was rebuilt at the site. People realized the power of nature, the design of new city strived to reply to the original appearance and emphasize the concept of earthquake.

In the late 19th century, with the development of irrigation, a large number of Italian immigrants came here, which greatly promoted the economic prosperity.

34. Machu Picchu:The City in the Clouds

The meaning of Machu Picchu is “lost Inca city”. It is South America’s most important archaeological center, and Peru’s most popular tourist attraction.

“Lost City” of Inca Empire

Machu Picchu is Peru’s ancient Inca ruins of the ancient city. About 1450, the rulers of Inca Empire Painca built the city. In 1532, the Spanish colonists invaded Peru and captured Machu Picchu, but eventually abandoned it. In 1911, the U.S. explorer Hiram Bingham discovered the ancient ruins completely concealed under a thick tropical forest.

Since then, the mystery was gradually lifted and the ancient Machu Picchu started to appear to the modern society from its last glorious empire civilization. Although the site ruins, the heyday of the magnificent style of the original can still be seen.

“Machu Picchu” in the Inca language means “Old Mountain”. The ancient city is 2280 m above sea level, with the cliffs about 600 meters high on both sides, under which is the magnificent Urubamba River.

Sun worship is the soul of the Machu Picchu. Inca religion is sun worship. They claimed to be descendants of the sun, and even built their own city in high mountains to get closer to the sun. The ancient city is of narrow streets, neat and orderly. Palaces, temples and workshops are distinctive. Holy, mystical and pious atmosphere made Machu Picchu be ranked in the top 10 list of nostalgia Holy Land.

Glorious Imperial Monuments

The Ancient City of Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is known as the “Lost City” of Inca Empire. Early in the 20th century, there was mysterious city in the legendary mountains of the Andes in Peru. For over 300 years of Spanish colonial rulers knew nothing about it. In the 100 years after Peru’s independence, no one was involved. In the 400 years, only the flying Eagle witnessed the majesty of the ancient city.
