Free Advice

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party。Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice。After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer,“What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you’re out of the office?”

“I give it to them”replied the lawyer,“and then I send them a bill。”The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try。The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills。When he went to place them in his mailbox,he found a bill from the lawyer。

interrupt[intrpt]vt。&vi。打断

例:Children must learn not to interrupt。

ailment[eilmnt]n。

His ailments include a mild heart attack and arthritis。

exasperate[igz?:spreit]vt。

We were exasperated at his ill behaviour。

当然首选have a runny nose不停地流鼻涕了。 到了实在没办法的时候,把心一横豁出去了,你就尽管blow your nose擤鼻涕吧,其他感冒症状还有have a sore throat喉咙痛和clear your throat干咳,感冒再严重一点就会have a bad cough严重咳嗽。

①I am infuriated by his thoughtlessness。

②Don’t be offended by his haste。He is a very busy man。

③Henry cannot stomach the violence in that movie。

④When Alex began to argue,Richard burst into a rage。

⑤She cannot be provoked by their stupid behavior。

⑥If you tease him,he becomes hot with anger。
