3. A person has only this life to live. You can actively make as much use of it as possible or face it with a detached state of mind. When you take things too hard and become unhappy, think of the adage and you’ll be relieved. When you are in low spirits, thing of it to cheer up. When you can enraged, think of it to calm down. When you are dissatisfied, think of it to acquire a grateful feeling. After all you’ve got your chance to live your life, you’re lucky enough. Surely you won’t waste this precious chance to lead your life in vain.

1. 我常以“人就这么一辈子”这句话来告诫自己并劝说朋友。这几个字,说来容易,听来简单,想起来却很深沉。它能使我在懦弱时变得勇敢,骄矜时变得谦虚,颓废时变得积极,痛苦时变得欢愉,对任何事拿得起也放得下,所以我称它为“当头棒喝”、“七字箴言”。

2. 人不就这么一辈子吗?生不带来,死不带去的一辈子;春发、夏荣、秋收、冬藏,看来像是一年四季般短暂的一辈子。每当我为俗务劳身费神的时刻,想到这几个字,便在哀时光之须叟、感万物之行休中,把周遭的俗事抛开,将眼前的争逐看淡。我常想,世间的劳苦愁烦、恩恩怨怨,如有不能化解、不能消受的,不也驮过这短短的几十年就烟消云散了吗?既是如此,还有什么是解不开的呢?

3. 人就这么一辈子,你可以积极地把握它,也可以淡然地面对它。看不开时想想它,以求释然吧!精神颓废时想想它,以求振作吧!愤怒时想想它,以求平息吧!不满时想想它,以求感恩吧!因为不管怎样,你总是很幸运地拥有这一辈子,你总不能白来这一遭啊!

You Can Do Anything你可以做任何事

1. If anyone tries to tell you that you can’t work hard enough to face the task in front of you—show them that you’re tough.

2. If anyone tries to tell you that you are not that strong, don’t listen to discouragement—know that you belong.

3. If anyone tries to tell you that you can’t sing your own song, or make your way in the world... prove them wrong.

4. Everyone gets an angel... You can’t always see them because sometimes they are invisible.

5. Sometimes they are your pet when he kisses you...

6. Sometimes they are a small treasure you find... an angel might even be your friend.

7. Those angels are quiet, but what they are really saying is: “pink clouds! A good day is just around the corner.”

8. So, if you begin to worry too much, just remember...

9. Somewhere an angel is looking out for you, too.

I Have A Dream 我有一个梦想

1. …I say to you, my friends, so even though we must face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

2. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed - we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.

3. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, sons of former slaves and sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

4. I have a dream that one day, even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

5. I have a dream my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

6. I have a dream today!

7. I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

8. I have a dream today.

9. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places shall be made plain, and the crooked places shall be made straight and the glory of the Lord will be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.

10. This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with.

11. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.

12. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.

13. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to go to jail together, knowing that we will be free one day.

14. This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning—“my country’ ties of thee; sweet land of liberty; of thee I sing; land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride; from every mountain side, let freedom ring”—and if America is to be a great nation, this must become true.

15. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hill tops of New Hampshire.

16. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.

17. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

18. Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado.

19. Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California.

20. But not only that. Let freedom ring from the Stone Mountain of Georgia.

21. Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee.

22. Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi.

23. Let freedom ring from every mountainside.

24. When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and hamlet, from every state and city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children - black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Catholics and Protestants - will be able to join hands and to sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last, free at last; thank God Almighty, we are free at last.”
