家住层城邻汉苑，心随明月到胡天。

The singing orioles and swallows announce the new year.
I wonder how far the northern frontier must be from here.
I live in the capital， quite near the Royal Palace，
While my heart follows the moon and in the Hu’s sky tarries.
I weave my gloomy thoughts into the fabrics on the loom；
Sprays smiling at me， I sleep alone in my upstair room.
Tell me， oh， General Dou， Commander of our army，
When you’ll be back with your banners， having carved your victory.
