十二楼中尽晓妆，望仙楼上望君王。
锁衔金兽连环冷，水滴铜龙昼漏长。
云髻罢梳还对镜，罗衣欲换更添香。
遥窥正殿帘开处，袍裤宫人扫御床。

Having made morning dress-up， all ladies in all the bowers
Hoped to see the Emperor from the Fairy-Expecting Tower.
Its lock joined double rings with golden carved beasts and was cold
While by water drippings in brass dragon， long hours were told.
Having combed hair in crowning knots， they looked in the glass again，
And repeatedly perfumed the silk clothes they were to wear.
They peeped at where was drawn up the Imperial Hall’s curtain，
And saw maids in gowns and trousers doing Royal Bed there.
