其一
日光斜照集灵台，红树花迎晓露开。
昨夜上皇新授，太真含笑入帘来。

I
Over the Long Life Palace the sun casts its slanting light；
With the morning dew coming， the trees of red flowers bloom bright.
Yesternight the Emperor bestowed on a new girl his grace，
Who stepped behind the curtain with a lovely smiling face.
其二
虢国夫人承主恩，平明骑马入宫门。
却嫌脂粉污颜色，淡扫蛾眉朝至尊。
II
The Emperor’s grace was given to the Duchess of Guo State；
In early morning she rode and entered the palace gate.
Lest rouge and powder should spoil her natural beauty，
With eyebrows faintly drawn， she went to see His Majesty.
