江雨菲菲江草齐，六朝如梦鸟空啼。
无情最是台城柳，依旧烟笼十里堤。

Drizzling rains fall o’er neat grass that on the riverside lies；
Six Dynasties have passed by like dreams with birds’vain cries.
The most unfeeling are willows that surround the city
And as usual wrap its ten-li dykes in a veil misty.
